Emily McMillan, CNP
Emily receive her Bachelor of Nursing degree from Mount Carmel College of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio and receive a Master of Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner Degree from Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Emily worked as an RN for 7 years in high-risk obstetrics, labor and delivery, and gynecological oncology. Emily has been with Comprehensive Women’s Care as a Nurse Practitioner since September 2011.
Emily’s special interest is in adolescent/teen health. She is married and just had her first baby in 2013. The other notable family member is Griffin, the resident Yorkiepoo. In her free time, Emily enjoys working out, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. Emily has two children, a son and a daughter.
Susan Saunders, CNP
Susan is an informed and compassionate care giver who was involved in the founding of Comprehensive Women’s Care in 2005. She has been practicing medicine with Dr. Uma Ananth for over 10 years.
Susan received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The Ohio State University and received her Certification in Women’s Health from Indiana Women’s Health Services through Ball State. Susan is certified in in-patient obstetrical care and has served Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus as a nurse for 30 years, 27 of which have been as a labor and delivery nurse. She is also an instructor for new RNs in high risk OB care, with a focus on pregnancy-induced hypertension.
Stephanie Spahr, CNP
Stephanie is a Certified Nurse Practitioner specialized in Women’s Health. She graduated with her Bachelor’s in Nursing from Wright State University in 2004. She was a NICU nurse prior to receiving her Master’s in Nursing in 2008 from University of Cincinnati. Her experience as a Nurse Practitioner has included work in a variety of women’s healthcare settings as well as teaching for the RN program at a Community College in Springfield, OH.
Stephanie is from the Dayton area, where she is currently commuting from. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys sports and activities with her three children, trying new recipes, running, and spending time with family and friends.
Jennifer Cartmel, CNP
Jennifer has been working in women’s health since 1990, and received her Masters degree from The Ohio State University College of Nursing through the graduate entry program in 2008, and is board certified in women’s health. She also has a B.A. in Speech Communications from Wheaton College (Illinois). Life experience and serving a broad spectrum of women and their families from many cultural backgrounds over the years has made her uniquely qualified to provide not only evidence-based solutions to obstetric and gynecologic issues, but also intuitive and tailor-made solutions for every individual. She has worked as a nurse, a childbirth educator, and doula in clinics and private practice, and as a nurse practitioner in a hospital clinic and in federally qualified health centers, providing a broad scope of services in under-served areas of Columbus: prenatal care, birth control, colposcopy, and all things gynecologic. She loves all of it.
She is adjunct faculty at The Ohio State College of Nursing and precepts women’s health and nurse midwifery students. She is a rower and you can often find her in her single or out with her “crew” on the Scioto River, but it’s usually before sunrise. She is happily married and has a beautiful and bright daughter.
