This chemical is found in blueberries, raspberries, grapes, and mulberries. Various research suggests this chemical may stop fibroid cell growth. 

Green Tea

Green tea contains antioxidants called flavanols. This bioflavonoid in green tea may help reduce the size and number of fibroids. 

A study from 2013 looked at 39 women with one or more fibroids. All women involved in the study either took 800 mg of green tea or were given a placebo each day for 4 months. The test results reported the green tea group had less severe symptoms, and that their fibroids shrunk in size. 

Of course, more research is needed, but if you’re going to drink tea, and you have fibroid symptoms, why not make it green tea?

Lifestyle Changes To Try

Many women state that making some changes in their everyday life can help improve their painful fibroid symptoms. 

Women who are overweight or obese are more likely to have fibroids, so getting down to a healthy weight through exercise and dietary changes may help with fibroid symptoms.

In addition, many women find taking up tai-chi or yoga eliminates some of the worst symptoms associated with uterine fibroids. Stress management is another excellent benefit from these activities that contributes greatly to improve a person’s overall health.

Your health is important to us and we welcome you to call our office if you need any help deciding if you need to reschedule your appointment.

If you have a fever, cough, or shortness of breath, please do not come to the office for an appointment. Please instead call us to reschedule.

We have always been very welcoming of additional support people and children in our office, but at this time, we are asking that you do not bring any guests to your visits. If you need assistance and a support person is necessary, please call our office so arrangements can be made.
